What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday (18 September 2013)

A bit of a mess so you are seeing a pile of yarny squares instead.  Spent all day yesterday trying to do some techy blog work and it took me forever!  Sadly I now have to finish the things I had planned to do yesterday this morning then hopefully I can get a bit of crafty crochet in.  I have 15 more squares to make and then this blanket will be ready to sew together.

This is a picture I took yesterday and sadly all of the squares are the same so I also need to block them.  I'd rather not but somehow I don't think I will get away with not blocking.

Pop on over to Julia to have a good old snoop at some other crafty spaces.

I am not sure what blocking is but I hope you get it done Candace!!! I know how much time can be whiled away learning new things on the computer but it is worth it with each step we take to computer wizardry!!! Happy WOYWW to you from Helen 67

I used to be able to crochet years ago Candace, after my Grandmother taught me. But when I tried to do some a few years back it just went into a frilly mess getting bigger and frillier as I went. You guessed it...I gave up!
I'm impressed with your squares! ;D
I'm also battling with a techy challenge on my blog at the moment. They are brilliant when they work but grrr...when they won't play!

Happy WOYWW and thanks for popping over to me earlier.

Thanks for calling by at mine. Trust me when I say I love my sewing challenges....yes even shortening 15 pair of trousers in a day :-) I'm blessed in that my job is doing something I love doing...every day. It's just that today there are rather a lot of them cos I've been having play time with my gorgeous little munchkins. :-)

Love the squares. Sorry don't know what blocking is. Margaret, my wife is glitterandglue #70, has sewn a lot of squares together, and then crocheted around the edge to make blankets that are either taken out to Uganda or sold so that the money can go to Uganda. Our church supports parental care ministries http://www.pcmuk.org/# which helps children, many of them orphans, out in Uganda.

Thanks for stopping by and I'm glad you like my pyrography. Kind regards, John W #71.

It's lovely to see crochet in bright, funky colours. The blanket will be fab, but I think blocking will make it look even better. I am a recent crochet convert but love it loads, even more than knitting which is what I've done for years!

Love your squares! The colors remind me of sherbert colors, so happy. I never learned to crochet and am always wishing I had learned young, as I am all thumbs now. Thanks for the visit today! Winnie#83

Lovely colours, Candace. Do you really need to block these? Won't the corners come together when you either sew or crochet the squares together? Well done, though - only 15 more and you have a blanket!!
Thanks for stopping by. Yes, pergamano is rather intricate - but I love it - blocks the world out when I don't want it in there!!!
Have a great week.

Crafty crochet sounds good. Maybe Cedric could take that up and make himself a blanket for when the bears keep him out of the bed.

I have no idea what blocking is but I love the colours. I'm not sure whether to hope on your behalf that you need to buy more yarn or not ;-)

Those computers and tech things such can suck the time away from you before you even know it. I love the yarn squares, wish I knew how to make them. Great colors! Good luck blocking them. I'm guessing that has something to do with making them even. It sounds time consuming.

Candace I love to crochet, but haven't in years. Still have my needles, and even some yarn! This is going to be a great piece. Thanks for sharing, and for your earlier visit to my space.

I am not sure what blocking is or why you seem sad about it - to have crocheted so many squares is a triumph in my eyes!

Hi Candace and thanks for stopping by to look at my little coffin I've made for a swap. I don't know what blocking is but assume it's something to do with joining the squares together? Don't think I would enjoy that either.

Very bright and cheerful! I hate blocking, but it really does make for a nicer project in the end, so good luck with it.
