What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday (25 September 2013)

I wasn't planning on taking part this week as I have a hospital visit for a round of tests today but couldn't sleep and I had taken a photo of me card making yesterday morning at work to put in my Project Life album.  Just love those little butterfly's

Many years ago I used to make cards to sell but stopped when life i.e. work and kids took over.  Since then I have only made for friends and family.  Now I've started up again making large quantities to sell I am finding I can't sit for more than 2 hours at a time.  I'm shocked by this as before I was working for myself I would have loved to have sat and crafted all day long.

Strange  when you can't do something you want to do it so badly but when you can you just don't want to.  Am I the only one who feels this way?

So here I am, insomniac me, joining in this week as it's preferable to type this at 5.30am than do housework!  I'll be busy travelling and being poked and prodded most of the day so may not be able to visit many of you until tomorrow/Friday.  I'm going to visit a few of you now as it's clear I am not going to go back to sleep.

Pop on over to Julia to see some other crafty spaces that are probably far more interesting then mine.

Your cards are quite lovely!! I love the different colors you are using!

Yes, my crafting style has changed a bit since having my son (just turned 9) as my mind often wanders to all the things I need to get done! :)

Best wishes at the hospital - following your blog! I used to live in England and am SO nostalgic to return to Europe :)

Blessings!

Thank you so much, Candace, for visiting me this morning! I couldn't sleep either, but I then had to take my son for a medical visit so here I am dropping by when you're probably doing hospital visits too! I love these pretty butterfly cards! My favourite of all images! I know just what you mean about wanting so much to have time to do things when you are restricted by work etc and then finding - when you have the time - it doesn't quite work out as you planned! LOL! I fell asleep watching Dave (QI or Would I Lie to You?) then woke up at 2 - figured if I was up anyway I might as well play Candy Crush and wait for WOYWW LOL!

Love the cards - such a simple but effective design.

Happy WOYWW!

I wonder if you could set a timer so you craft an hour then get up, streach, gor for a walk, craft another hour, get up have a cup of tea, craft etc so you are not in one position sitting too long at once? Maybe? Happy WOYWW! Lindsay #28

Those are indeed beautiful butterflies and stunning cards, Candace! I'm sorry that you are in need of hospital tests and the dreaded proddings and pokings. No fun at all. I hope you get satisfactory and quick results! And, no, you aren't alone in the fickleness of crafting stamina and mojo!!

Happy WOYWW and take good care! Thanks for the visit to me! Darnell #22

You are definitely not the only one who feels that way. I dream of the days I can sit and craft all day or even just all morning. Then one of those days actually comes along and I can't do it.... just can't force it to work out. I love your turquoise butterflies the best, but the other is no slouch either. Is that the Stampin' Up butterfly? I just got that myself and have yet to play with it.

Gah, am sorry tha tyou aren't sleeping..it doesn't happen to me often, but I do hate it. Am hopeless without decent amounts of sleep. I think it's the old thing that spare time for crafting is a treat, and as soon as you've got time to spare, you wanna be doing anything but...I couldn't agree more with how you feel though. Are you selling them in your shop? bet you need a lot to keep up with then.

You are not alone. LOL I think it's human nature rearing its ugly head. :-) Hope all the poking and prodding was worth the experience and that there is nothing serious in the result. Creative Blessings! ~Kelly #15

No, its not just you. When at work, all I want is to be able to go home and craft. When I get a day to myself, I find myself tidying, organising and so on, then wonder why I never got around to making anything! Have a great week, sorry I'm running late this week, Hugs, Shaz #27 xx

Hi Candace,

It's not just you, believe me. I can't seem to do too much for an extended period of time without experiencing some sort of pain. I hope your tests went well.

Your cards are beautiful. I love the butterflies. How do you plan to sell your cards? I see cards on Etsy and wonder about that. I've thought of trying to sell some photograph cards that way. We will see.

Thank you for visiting me already. Here is it Friday and I'm getting around.

Happy WOYWW

I hope the poking and proding produced favorable results. I understand exactly what you're talking about. Fortunately I have been poked and proded with no true issues found. :-) I hope the same for you. I LOVE your butterfly card. Great use of the paper trail above and below your butterflies. Thank you for stopping by my blog earlier.
