Over the past few days I have been seeing on Instagram lots of photos of people planig mood blankets. Basically you chose some yarn and give each one a mood. The moods I have chosen are:
Tired, Mixed Emotions, Relaxed, Sad, Calm,
Creative, Excited, Uncertain, Frustrated, Meh,
Sensitive, Determined, Lazy, Bored, Overwhelmed,
Anxious, Worried, Proud, Stressed,
Angry and Happy.
Anxious, Worried, Proud, Stressed,
Angry and Happy.
I then chose these 21 colours of Stylecraft Special DK:
Aspen Meadow Sherbet
Turquoise Cloud Blue Aster
Teal Emperor Shrimp
Silver Lavender Wisteria
Bluebell Raspberry Plum
Fondant Clematis Magenta
Pomegranate Lipstick Saffron
I am making a jewel granny square; 3 rounds in a circle then edged in Graphite Grey.
At this point I have chosen not to say which mood is which colour (and before you ask, yes they are in a different order!). I am using Stylecraft because I have quite a bit in my stash and sadly little funds to buy enough yarn for another project. I may need to top up some colours but that's fine but this year my One Little Word In Winnow and clutter is one thing that needs to go from our home. I have way too much yarn and way too many half completed projects and this year I am working on reducing both.
You can see my squares on my Instagram feed which can be found by clicking the Instagram button on the top right. Hoping to keep up but I will at least keep a note of the colour yarn I need to use.
Is anyone else taking part in this project?

This is such a cool idea!
What a wonderful idea! Will you sew all the squares together in day order or mix them up?
Might fancy having a go with this but only doing a couple of squares a week as I don't think I could like up with a square every day for a whole year.
Good luck and please show us your progress as you go on. Would love to see what mood is related to each colour
Is is such an interesting idea and some of those colour combinations are just yummy ... And grey is an all time favourite of mine :).
What a great idea, I love this and look forward to seeing how it all comes together (and trying to guess which colour is which mood!) Thank you for linking up with #guiltypleasures
Great idea. I was doing granny squares (in general), but I hate changing colours as it's such a faff. Instead, I might change to plain colour circles or squares. Might mean I actually get round to finishing more than 4 squares!
