Giving Geocaching Another Go

Over February half term we decided to give Geocaching another go.  Previously we have attempted to find 2 Geocaches and failed to find either.  However, we weren't put off and decided to give it anther go but this type we had a Geocache App to help us.

This time we decided to try and find some Geocaches along the Staffordshire Canal starting from Wolverly.  Off down the tow path we went taking in the countryside views:

Standing on the bridge over the River Stour which runs along side the canal trying to get a better view of the ducks on the River. Having a 10 minute conversation with The Girl that although I don't have my glasses on, they are not ducklings she can see as it is too early! 

Trying to avoid all the mud after all the recent rain.

Reaching the lock and trying to find the Geocache.

Giving up as we can see where the Geocache is but the ground is water logged and we can't get to it.  Playing fair, I can't show you where it was hidden.  We could see it but there was too much mud and was close to the side of the canal.  The last thing I wanted was them slipping in the mud and ending up in the canal so we didn't actually leave a message.

And then we were back to where we started.

Tired and a little chilly we go inside for a warm and a rest.

And order a little refreshments.

Sunday lunch finished and someone else does the washing up!

A fun family day out with a semi successful ending.

50 by 50 - Afternoon Tea

Regular visitors may have noticed an additional tab at the top of my blog; 50 by 50.  I have finally got round to doing a bucket list.  I had fully intended on doing a 40 by 40 when I was 39 but with one thing and another I just didn't get round to it.  Well the list is completed and I thought it was about time I got on with some of the experiences.  First up, afternoon tea.

While we were in Bath we went on a guided tour and went to the Roman Baths.  In one of the rooms is the most gorgeous tea rooms which serves afternoon tea.  by the time we got to the Baths the afternoon tea was well under way and we had the tour to continue with.  By the time we finished the tour the heavens had opened and we were all tired and went back to the hotel.  

The next day we went to see the toy supplier we had come to see then on to Stonehenge.  We were coming back through Bath on the way home and just could not resist going back for afternoon tea.  The rooms looks out on to the Roman Baths.

Afternoon tea was amazing.  We were certainly not disappointed.

The tea room is in the most stunning room with some amazing features.

Really fabulous afternoon and that is one item ticked off the 50 by 50 list.  Bring on the remaining 49!

Fireworks in August

Last Saturday it was our town show.  After a day of fun on the prom it was time for the main event; the fireworks.  Its not a usual sight, fireworks on the beach...especially in August.  Here are a few photos of what can only be described as an amazing firework show.

Dancing The Night Away In Aid Of Wales Air Ambulance

This week we have gone outside for some fun and laughter but then sort of gone back inside.  

Inside a barn....for a barn dance.

There were cowgirls and cowboys....

Bull riding....

And plenty of dancing....

The Boy and The Girl danced and danced.  Something I never thought I would see with The Boy.  The Girl even got Grandad up and dancing.

And me?  Yes I did take part too but as I was in charge of my camera phone sadly there are no photos.  Darn, what a shame!

The evening was in aid of Air Ambulance Wales.
