What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday? (21 August 2013)

Thanks for the tips last week on getting my mojo going.  Think its all to do with lack of organisation.  Since moving my craft desk also houses my computer and I have to move things around and pack away all the time.  This means I have to unpack and then pack away every time I craft which can be so demotivating.  This has been why I just don't feel like scrapping.

My desk this week:

This week I have been working on some project life pages.  Managed to print off some photos and choose cards.  I then took the page protectors to work and stuck the photos down and completed the journalling.  It is just too much hassle to embellish whilst at work but I hope I can find some spare moments to do this at home.

Think I may try this again this week as it has meant I have sorted the photos and completed the journalling whilst the memories are clear.

Don't forget to pop on over to Julia to take part or just have a little nosey around craft land.

Hi Candace! I am doing Project Life this year too. One thing that is helping me (one who had difficulty with the journaling) to get the memories down is to use a Weekly Planner with months in a glance. I go to the day and write my thoughts or notes and then later I pair them up with the photos. I am still perfecting this but it has made a big difference. I am thinking of putting it on my nightstand and writing it down right before bed.

Your pages are coming together nicely. Thanks for sharing.

Have a blessed day!

It's hard to not have a dedicated area to craft in. I can appreciate that. Your PL page is looking ready to go, though. Hope you find some way to get out of this slump. Happy WOYWW from # 10.

Happy hopping this Wednesday!

it is so hard when you have to pack up after a session weather you are done or not, maybe you could keep a basket of the stuff you absolutely need under your table so you can work when you get a minute? Happy WOYWW! Lindsay #20

I think your pages are great, mabybe you can have a container that you can store close by that contains what you need and this way you wont have the hassle of moving stuff all the time and when finished it is all still in the container.

Happy WOYWW

I am not going to start project life as it would just pressurise me too much. I am so far behind in my scrapping... #46

I understand, the getting out and putting away once a month after a crop is bad enough. Maybe the bug to scrap will become so strong thatyou suddenly won't notice the 'work' part! Like your PL format and the striped paper. Still not quite over your huge move and new lifestyle, am so impressed by you!

Hello Candace. Haven't found you before - we ran away to the sea, too!! - the North Wales coast.
Love your photos - and well done for getting your picture all sorted - the scrapping will come - it just all takes time - and yes, I do realise we never seem to have enough of it :) We are retired - and STILL don't have time to get bored!
Have a great week.

Hi there, Candace! I kept meaning to stop by your blog and now here I am! I don't have a crafting space either and it is so difficult having to get out and clear away all the time, I know. I hope to invest in a garden shed of my very own in about a year's time! Till then I craft on a corner of the dining table or the top of the washing machine. I can't get around that packing up and getting it all out again problem yet. I've read a few blogs of deskers doing Project Life and it really sounds great! Happy WOYWW! Julie Ann xx #35

Hi Candace
what great photo's and the colours you are using really work wonderfully with them.
I hope you get the time to do your journaling so you can put these safely away

Glad to see you're getting back into it. It's so true that if it's too much work to even get to our fun stuff, it often won't happen.

Thank you for stopping by my blog earlier and for your kind comments.

Happy Woyww,

Very difficult to always have to pack up, I did that for a couple of years before tidying out the spare bedroom and making it my own. Beautiful and inspiring quote in the post above this one, must remember that, so true.

Hi Candace, sounds like you may have to move your computer if at all possible and then perhaps you won't have to clear up quite so much before moving on to a new project. Your PL page is lovely, even without any embellishments. Hope you have a good week. Elizabeth x #47

I feel for you, it would definitely be a demotivator to have to clear it all up and put it away every time! Glad you got it part sorted though, the journaling and photos are the main thing! Apologies for my late arrival of doing the round of WOYWW desks! Annette #6

LOVE the colours you are using there. I tend to do base pages at crops and then embellish when I get home and I've got all my stuff around so can find just the right thing. Glad you are finding some time and getting going again x

I envy scrapbookers. How fabulous to get these pretty pages done! It just seems like too much work for me. You are right, the clearing out and putting up to make the space for this kind of project is just too overwhelming to me.
