What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday? (14 August 2013)

A little different view this week.

This is me showing my Daughter how to French Knit:

Now my Daughter has taken charge of the french knitting, can anybody give me an idea what I do with it all?

Paper crafting has left the building.  Just not had time to sit down and do any at all.  Part of this is down to lack of mojo and the other part down to lack of time.  The problem is the less I am doing the less mojo I have!  Any Suggestions?

At this point you know what to do.  Julia is waiting for you.

Hmmmm - the Mojo thing happens to us all. Don'y know what the answer is really. I just left it and found something strenuous to do and then crafting seemed a more sedate option :-D
I have a little biddy French knitter but can't remember how to start it off hahahaha !!!!

Hi what about writing an art journal page to your mojo - telling her why you would like her back in your life ! Maybe try limiting your supplies e.g. just get 3 colours (paint/ ink) 2 stamps you like or masks etc - whatevers your thing and set yourself a time limit.
Sometimes less is more and you just have to get started & play about to let the light back into your crafting brain !! Hope this helps !! Ali x #49
(PS french knitting coiled up to make coasters ?!)

Happy WOYWW, well I hope we cheer you up a bit!

I used to French knit with a wooden cotton reel with nails too.
I have a much more modern dolly now, I bought it to make posh necklaces, I think it is Hilda De Vane or something like that, she sells the dollies, the yarn, the huge bead and the end caps with toggle clasps to make them, I made one but it makes me itch to wear it!
Now you can coil up the knitting and sew it into mats, or rugs if is really big. You can loop it and stich it into a big daisy to go on a hat or the rug you made earlier! You could make it into a scarf if you have the patience to sew it back and forth in a wiggly zig zag style until it is long enough. I think some used to make tea cosies but there aren't many of those about these days!

I usually find a challenge on a blog and see what I can make when my mojo goes walkabouts (quite often!). No idea what to do with the French Knitting. I suppose you could layer and stitch them together to make a bag. Hugs. Pam#33

I have absolutely no experience with french knitting. The yarn color looks fun though!

I know what you mean about mojo. I haven't done any real crafting for quite a while. I do have this GREAT idea in my head though - and bought some of what I need to get the project started. It's just getting it started is all......

Hope Mojo pays you a visit soon.

Happy WOYWW
